Established on 1 April 2017, the SingHealth Clinical Trials Coordinating Centre (CTCC) is an overarching framework for the harmonisation of the clinical trials infrastructure within the SingHealth cluster.
CTCC is organised into three sections:
The talent management team looks into improving clinical research talent retention, including the implementation of Training programmes and Career Development Framework for Clincal Research Coordinators (CRCs).
A cluster CRC training programme will be launched in two parts to support the competency requirements listed in the CRC CDP. The first part of the programme will cover the core competencies of novice-level CRCs, and will be launched in Q3 CY2017. The second part of the programme will cover training for clinicial trial specific competencies of the CRCs and is scheduled to be launched in H2 2018.
This serves as the centralised clinical trial support function in harmonising operational standards and guidelines across SingHealth. CTCC works closely with each institution in developing these frameworks.
The strategic partnership team is the point of contact for external queries pertaining to industry-sponsored trials and oversight of the entire trial process to ensure timeline accountability to the study sponsors. The team facilitates industry-sponsored clinical research studies through outreach efforts to biopharmaceutical companies and CROs to identify research study opportunities. This will follow with the matching of appropriate therapeutic group PIs to the external collaborators, coordinating feasibility studies and managing external requests and expectations.
