Venerable Yen Pei-NKF Research Fund

The Venerable Yen Pei-NKF Research Fund is available specifically for research in kidney diseases. An NKF Research Committee, helmed by Professor Woo Keng Thye, Emeritus Consultant and Advisor, Department of Renal Medicine, Singapore General Hospital has been set up to administer the Fund to ensure good stewardship and accountability for the way the fund is spent in research.

The acceptable areas of research would be basic science and clinical research that are of renal or renal related projects. If the research has relevance to the NKF activities, the proposal/s would be considered as well.

Application Criteria for Research
The Research proposals are open to only Singaporeans and Permanent Residents. Every research proposal must be affiliated with an institution.

  • The grant proposals are initiated twice a year in July and January (subject to changes by the NKF Research Committee).
  • The Research funding could be applied for one to three years with a capped amount of three hundred thousand dollars for the 3 years.
  • The research support would consist of-:
    • Manpower
    • Equipment
    • Material & Supplies
    • Miscellaneous
  • All researchers will have to abide by the guidelines and the application form must be duly submitted
  • Areas of research would be basic science and clinical research that are of renal or renal-related projects. If the research has relevance to the NKF activities, the proposal/s would be considered as well.
