Overview
GSK recognises that great science happens inside as well as outside the walls of GSK, and is seeking partnerships with academic groups in Singapore to accelerate translational research and progress the shared goal of making new medicines available to the patients that need them. The GSK-Singapore Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE) was set up in 2010 to be a virtual research network which establishes collaborations on projects between GSK’s Discovery Performance Units and researchers based in Singapore. Areas of interest include oncology, ophthalmology, neurodegeneration, infectious disease, cardiovascular & metabolic pathways, regenerative medicine, respiratory, immune-inflammation, and biopharmaceuticals. ACE is led from GSK’s R&D centre in Singapore, and interfaces with the company’s global R&D community.
Funding Organisation
GlaxoSmithKline funds research projects which align well with GSK’s research focus in various therapeutic areas. Both Singapore and GSK researchers can initiate collaboration conversations. Proposals need to be submitted to GSK for approval, and can be submitted at any time.
