Synopsis:

This course on IRB and Informed Consent will provide participants with a better understanding of the following:

• Appreciate the history of development of ethical guidelines in clinical research.
• Understand the organization of the Domain Specific Review Board (DSRB).
• Define the role of DSRB in protecting the rights, safety and well-being of research participants.
• Be familiar with the basic elements for an informed consent form.
• Understand the responsibilities of an investigator for Informed Consent Process and Informed Consent Documentation.
• Appreciate the requirements for Alteration of Informed Consent.
