About Clinical Research

Clinical trials study the effects of new treatments in humans to assess their safety, effectiveness and tolerability. These new treatments once approved will be an alternative treatment and offers hope to patients.

Safety of Clinical Trials

Research is done in laboratories and animals to allow the researchers to know as much about the safety and effectiveness of the new treatment before conducting in human.

As the effects on a new treatment are not fully known, there is some risk on research participants. This explains why participants have to give informed consent and understand the risks and benefits of participating in a trial. Participants can opt withdraw from the clinical trial at any one time.
